Its crazy that it has been 15 years since the tragic death of Notorious B.I.G and lately many of his close friends and family are once again speaking on his greatness.
But this is a very rare interview of his daughter T'yanna and her mother Jan chatting it up with Hot 97 and sharing their feelings on Faith Evans and Lil Kim. Good interview but those white shades made my sad .. LOL.
Today marks the first official day of Black History Month! Though I will be forever grateful for the many pioneers who shed blood, sweat and tears fighting for equality and justice. However for the next 28 days I will pay-homage to the men and women of today who are living out Martin's dream and Sojourner Truth's mission.
So today I celebrate Mona Scott-Young a wife, mother, entrepreneur, mentor and the owner of Monami Entertainment. She is the former co-owner and president of Violator Management and has helped launch the careers of Missy Elliott, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes and managed the careers of LL Cool J and Fantasia.
After putting 18 years of hard work into Violator Management, Scott decided to follow her dream and start on her business, Monami Entertainment, which is media company that tackles artist management, brand development and much more.
Today, Mona Scott Young is the Executive Producer of Vh1's Love & Hip Hop reality TV series, noting the idea coming from her client Jim Jones after seeing his dysfunctional relationship with his long-time girlfriend Chrissy. This season she also introduced her men-tee Yandy Smith, who is also the project manager at Monami Entertainment.
Yall remember when Amber Rose was a mute? I swear you couldn't pay this chick to utter a mumbling word, but lately she called Kim Kardashian a whore and said that Kanye aint sh*t ...
Well it doesn't stop there, in her new interview with the NY Post, Amber Rose talks about her sweet come-up that came with some fame and a new lifestyle.
She explains how Kanye was captain save a hoe and took her from the projects to penthouses ....
How It All Started:
“I was home in The Bronx, and he called me on my cellphone,” she recalled. “I’d never met him before. He was like, ‘Hey, it’s Kanye.” - She promptly hung up on him, mistaking the famous rapper for a prank caller. -- Kanye called back and finally convinced her he was serious about flying her to LA to star in his Robocop video.
Thoughts on Kanye:
“He is your typical rapper in the industry,” Amber told The Post over dinner at The Lion, a celebrity hot spot in the West Village. “He can’t be faithful, and it’s not just with one person. He’s just unfaithful with a lot of different women. I got to the point where I thought, my heart can’t take it anymore. I don’t deserve this. I don’t care when people say that I owe him my life because I’m famous now. I don’t owe him nothing.”
On Her Relationship With Wiz:
“I was scared, because he’s four years younger than me, and he’s in the same industry as Kanye and I was so over all that,” said Amber. “All odds were against him, but I couldn’t fight the feeling. Wiz is the better man.”
“We both travel a lot, so when we do see each other, we lay up in the bed, get sticky with each other, and watch movies,” said Amber. “If Wiz felt insecure about me dating Kanye, I wouldn’t be with him today. Everyone is someone’s sloppy seconds, unless you’re a virgin."
Thoughts of fame:
“Like every poor person, I used to dream about winning the lottery,” said Amber, who estimated she’s worth millions today. “I didn’t just get money, though. I got fame. And I got fame before I got money, and it was scary. It f---ing sucks.”
My Thoughts: Talk about a Come Up? No shade intended, but its hard for me to respect a woman who's success, career, fame or status is determined by who she is or has slept with. Its just not a good look --- So, Ladies lets do better :)
Ebony Magazine have compiled a list of the "Hot Couples 2012" which features Keyshia Cole and her hubbyDaniel "Boobie" Gibson, Chad and Evelyn along with many others
Read below as they give deets on their relationship, what they like about each other and how they make it work! :)
Keyshia on why she decided to give Daniel a chance- "I was kind of through with relationships. I didn't feel like guys were mature enough. What made me gravitate toward Gib was his faith in God, more than anything. He seemed like a loving person. He talked a lot about his grandmother, who had passed away, and the things she instilled in him."
Daniel on Keyshia- "She has morals and a big heart. Once we met things happened fast. I felt like she was perfect for me. I proposed to her on New Year's Eve, right when the ball dropped. I got down on one knee at the same time."
Why Chad knew Evelyn was The One
"She was up-front and honest. I never had that before. I always [say to] people in early conversations, 'Tell me about yourself.' They always skip a story and try to come off squeaky clean. They tell me wha they think I want to hear. she didn't send her representative. She told me what she went through. She gave me A,B,C. She said, 'Take it or leave it.'"
How do they make love work (Evelyn)?
"You must be open. That's something I had never done before. I didn't want anyone telling him something about me. He doesn't judge me on my past or anything"
So I don't know about yall but I am super HYPE that after 14 years, Brandy and Monica will release the follow up song to their hit single “The Boy Is Mine” on February 8th, entitled “It All Belongs To Me” (produced by Rico Love)
Over 14 years they have both matured and its going to be interesting to see how they incorporate their own unique sound and styles on this new record!!
Twitter is a place where fans really feel connected to their favorite artist or celebrity. You have access to tweet them and stay in the know with their whereabouts, but there are many celebs who never respond back to their fans, but not Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, he seemingly makes it his business to give specifics deets of where is at, inviting his twitter followers to join him for lunch!
And Victor Gonzalez Gonzalez, a college student from Florida tweeted Chad this week .... and watch how the tweets go down!
WOW! How Dope is this???
But don't you people start going crazy tweeting celebs thinking that they owe you something! smh..
Casey Anthony takes to Youtube with her first Video Blog and says:
“I’m extremely excited. I’m excited that I’ll be able to Skype and obviously keep a video log, take some pictures and that I have something that I can finally call mine. It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to call something mine."
And I'm disturbed that she not one time mentioned her deceased daughter Caylee or even the mere thought of missing her ..... but she did manage to mention that she has a new dog tho ....Really Ma'am? smh ...
Hmmm just in time for February (the month of Love) celebrity couple Gabrielle Union, 39 and Dwyane Wade, 29 are featured on Essence Magazine’s February 2012 issue.
Being that this is the couples first magazine cover together, the two have finally opened up about their sweet romance on off court love affair. Their special edition is titled “Love At Any Age” being that she is 10 years older than him yet they both insist they are soul mates! :)
“We’re not rushing it. Both of us have been married before, and we understand that if we choose to marry again, we want it to be right. We both took failing at marriage hard. The next time it’s gotta be forever…” -- Dwyane Wade
Reality TV star, Television host, actress, mother & wife La La Vasquez Anthony is indeed a powerhouse and a lady who wears many hats! And she is now launching her own beauty and cosmetics line which will be available February 2012!!
Teaming up Motives Makeup to help create her own line of cosmetics, that will cater to women of color and focus directly on the various skin tones and skin types of African-American women!!
So apparently Amber Rose decided to blame Kim K. for her and Kanye's relationship ending!?!?!?!?
I want to be sympathetic but they both have bad reputations and though Amber Rose appears to be a reformed "bop"... I'm still not surprised by anything Kim K. has done or is doing for the sake of peen, fame, lust, money, and relationships...
------
Check out Amber Rose's Interview with Star magazine:
“Kim is one of the main reasons why me and Kanye are not together. She’s a home-wrecker!”
“They were both cheating,” Amber, said. “They were both cheating on me and Reggie with each other.”
“She was sending pictures, and I was like, ‘Kim, just stop. Don’t be that person. I thought at least she’d be woman enough to respond to me. She never responded.”
“It’s very important that us women stick together and we don’t f**k each other over like that.”
“I want to thank her because if she was never a homewrecker, then I never would have met Wiz, and I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now.”
I've never seen or heard of this Dollicia Bryan chick, but apparently she is a Video Vixen who has had her fair share of industry peen ... typical much?
But anyway she is the ex-girlfriend of Hill Harper, Bow Wow, Rob Kardashian and it has been rumored that she has let Kris Humphries smash (Kim K's ex husband)
Looks like Kelly Rowland is all about the international money, and I can't even hate on her hustle. And speaking of hustling a Luxury watch company, TW Steel has sought her out to be their worldwide ambassador for their 2012 campaign and are in the works of creating her own personalized wrist wear!
Kelly says:
“This is so exciting especially when you naturally become a fan of the brand which is what happened here.”
“I think every woman should definitely rock a TW Steel…especially the way we are going to design in the new year… It’s going to be so, so sexy, so stylish, so next level. I love it!”
R&B legend Etta James who is worldly known for her classic hit "At Last" has been battling leukemia for several years now and was recently has been hospitalized in California after suffering breathing problems and various other complications.
The the 73-year-old has indeed lived a rather full & prosperous life and there are unfortunately somethings that we can't control and her reps say that she is in “in pretty bad shape.”
Her family has already made arrangement and the courts have granted her husband Artis Mills to remain over of her estate rather than her son Donto James.
WATCH BELOW AS SHE SINGS HER CLASSIC HIT: "AT LAST"
Rapper Drake has always a crush on the late the Aaliyah, we've all watched him in interviews and heard songs of him speaking of her and such. And though she has been dead 10 years (RIP) Drake has decided to get a tattoo on his back ...
Hmmm ok ... odd much??
But its odd b/c he kinda felt some type of way about his crazed fan who took his line "Tat my name on you so I know its real" seriously and proved that she was really bout that life and tatted DRAKE (in the biggest effin font) on her Forehead. (O_O)
His feelings about the Tattoo Artist:
“The guy who tatted is a f---ing –-shole though, I will tell you that, I don’t f--- with that guy. F--- you to that tat artist by the way. And you should lose your job and should never do tattoos again and I don’t f--- with you. And if I ever see you, I’m a f--- you up.”
Tattoo Artist Response:
"I lost a little sleep over it that first night, wondering if I wanted to be known as the a--hole who tattooed 'DRAKE' on some crackhead's forehead,"
"In the end, she paid me to do this to her, which really means she did this to herself."
Stephen Laine, the ex-husband of Vanessa Bryant's mother Sofia Urbieta Laine, spoke with TMZ to expose that the "gold digging tendencies" are definitely genetic and Vanessa has learned such spiteful behavior from her mother, who has been diggin in his pockets from day one!!
"Her mother taught her well to wait for the ten-year mark [before divorcing]. In California ... it's considered a long term marriage and then she gets paid for life or until she remarries ... just like her mother is doing to me.
Tell 'em why you mad tho?
"I have to pay her mom $1,800 every month and clearly they don’t need it. I have a six-year-old daughter and that money could be used toward her college fund or something ... you'd think she'd care .. but no, she's spiteful."
So I had the opportunity to speak with Johnny Gill about his new album "Still Winning", after releasing his first single "In The Mood" and receiving such a great response, he is now in the works of releasing his 2nd single "It Would Be You" (which was written by Trey Songz) and he talks about his new album, being blessed to continue to make good music and others things!
NW: Why did you decide to do another studio album after 15 years?
I tour all year round and I’ve had 30 years in this business, and I haven’t recorded in 16 years but I enjoy performing live and b/c of the nature of the business has changed so much and I am fortunate and blessed that I don’t have to make records to make a living, has been a true blessing for me.
I’ve just been touring and time kind of got away from me and then a lot people started asking me about recording b/c there are no more Luther’s, Gerald’s, teddy Pendergrass and everyone kept saying that there is a void that is missing and they felt that I could kind of connect and actual fulfill it…
And at one point nobody really wasn’t concerned if I had recorded or not but watching the response from everyone has simply put things into perspective but just I didn’t think it really meant that much but I guess I overlooked things a little bit.
NW: What was the creative direction of the album "Still Winning"?
There is really no particular direction, my goal was to make good music and let the chips fall where they may. I just came up with songs and good music that I know that I would enjoy performing that I felt that fit me and didn’t compromise who I am and what I do but I also enjoyed and was open to listening to different types of music … but I never let it compromise of who I am.
It’s just a great solid CD that unanimously that people have all agreed that this is my best work yet.
NW: How was it working with different producers such as B. Cox and Wyclef?
As a musician I have such great respect for writers and producers, I just think a lot people just don’t know how far my musical talent goes, not only just as a vocalist but I am a musician so its always fun and especially when your working with great musicians its always fun to collaborate and come together to see what you come up with and I have great respect for them as they have great respect for me and I think its a “win win” all the way around.
But the whole album from the top to the bottom is just great songs all the way through and its just based on where your mood is and it just takes you into a different direction.
NW: What was Inspiration for the single "Still Winning"?
That was a song that I wanted to sum up with everything of having the opportunity to do what I do and through all of the years you hear a lot of the shenanigans and how vicious people can be, and things you go through of being in this business and it just simply just says “Aye Imma keep on pushing and I’m still here and I’m still doing what I enjoy doing and at the end of the day I’m Still Winning know matter what you say!”
NW:How do you balance being Johnny Gill, apart of LSG and New Edition?
Everyday I get calls from the agents and their asking “Are you available?" And I always have to ask for “Who which one, cuz I don’t know!”
NW: Do your prefer to performing Solo or as a Group?
I love having my family, but I enjoy being able to express myself. When you don’t have to talk to or ask anyone, artistically what you want to do and how you feel that day, so it’s a balance.
It’s the best of both worlds and it’s a blessing and I enjoy it all!
Well I look at the steps and look at the choreography and go “I think imma pass on that one!”
But the for the most part we are still in our prime and everybody can still move and jump & do what we need to do and it’s a blessing. So we just pace ourselves!
Well I think its making a turn to come back to the basics, so when you see Keith, myself, Mr. Tyrese and Joe, we are all coming from the school of traditional R&B and its coming full circle.
But I like the state of R&B, and I like Trey Songz, Usher and the list goes on of those, but music is a form of art…. and everybody has different taste. So I’ve never been closed-minded.
NW:What current artist would you like to work with?
I’d love to collaborate with, Neyo! But the second single “It Would Be You” Trey Songz wrote that and he’s singing background.
We are shooting the video the video December 15 or 16th, and we might do an element of surprise for everybody!!
Because groups come out, get a hit record and everybody is thinking about how they can go solo, and solo is not for everybody!
And some groups have only had a certain amount of success, and a year or two doesn’t make or solidify you as a group. Over a period of time you have to be consistent and establish your self.
Marriage has now become about businesses, and who gives what if it doesn’t work verses continuing to work and grow and that wont be determined by a piece of paper but by the two parties understand, learning and wanting to be together.
And understanding what it takes to sustain in a great relationships

So The Fans Wanted To Know ......
Nicole from NC asked:
How do you feel about the media picking apart celebrity lives even if it means destroying a career?
It is what it is!! This is where the industry and media has always had control over sensationalizing things, they have the power and they do it.
But celebrities are human beings they wake on the wrong side of the bed like anybody else, good days, bad days, money problems and relationships problems. As a celebrity you are not exempt from life, its just now the media has decided to look in on their since theirs is more interesting versus the average Joe.
HaSheen from NC asked:
What is your favorite personal song or performance of all time that has been closest to your heart?
WOW!!! I did a song for Marvin Gaye called “Distant Lover” which is my all-time favorite songs of Marvin and every time I look back at that moment I felt really proud of and how I captured the song. I am such a big fan of Marvin Gaye and to feel the somewhat of the essence and energy of Marvin it was a moment in time that I really enjoyed!
