MOVIE REVIEW: Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds"

Yesterday I took my mother on a date to go see the premier of “Good Deeds” starring thee incomparable Tyler Perry, beautiful Thandie Newton and Gabrielle Union. And I must say that this was indeed an awesome film; the storyline was deep with moments that would make you want to laugh and cry from the raw emotions and lives portrayed.

In a gist the movie is about a successful businessman Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) who has lived by the book his whole life. He has followed all the rules, maintained the “good son” role, a stickler to routine and lives of very predicable boring life. Lame... Right??

Well one day he meets Lindsey, a feisty free-spirited single mother who has a plethora of issues of her own but her sheer presence turns Mr. Deeds life upside down.... and then the plot thickens... 

Many would be pleased to know that this film does not have any bitter-man-hating black women complaining nor does it have the gun toting Madea cussing and causing havoc. Meanwhile it shows two people from different tax brackets and lifestyles yet seemingly are very much alike and share similar interests.

Even though I personally cringe at the mere thought of Tyler Perry in a kissing love scene, he however did a great job Oh let’s not forget Thandie Newton … sista girl played her role oh so well. 

Too bad I cant tell you what happened, just know that I left the movie theatre teary eyed, feeling very grateful for my life and even more determined to achieve my goals all while keeping my integrity and spontaneity.  

So basically any and everybody can relate to this movie! Its definitely a MUST SEE!!

We Salute: Raven Symone - A Woman of Integrity

On this wonderful Friday, we must to pay homage to none other than the beautiful Raven Symone. At the young age of 26 years old, America has watched her blossom from a cute little three-year-old into a now very classy woman. 

She launched her career in 1989 as Olivia on The Cosby Show as Olivia. Then later showed off her acting chops in Hanging With Mr. Cooper, That's So Raven Dr. Dolittle, Dr. Dolittle 2, College Road Trip, The Cheetah Girls and more. 

Unlike many child stars, Raven has managed to stay "scandal free" and keep the media out of her personal life. You'll never hear about who she is dating or see any pictures or videos of her in compromising positions. 

She credits her success to her family and spiritual upbringing and for that very reason she is worth $45 Million and earned $35,000 per episode from Disney for her hit show That's So Raven! *balllinnngg* 

We Salute Ms. Raven Symone for staying true to her self, never compromising her morals, being a woman of integrity which has lead her to be a successful actress, singer, songwriter, comedian, dancer, television producer and model. 

Now ladies she is indeed a role model. Let's all follow her lead :)

I'm Single Because ....

"The civil war story between black men and women"

There are many people who would say that being single is liberating, and yes in some cases it is. But there are many single people who aren't choosing to be single but merely have yet to find that one who is willing commit to a relationship for whatever reason. 

Am I single? Yes, but I am a 25 year-old woman who has decided that after a failed 3 1/2 year (on and off again relationship) that my career and happinesses is much more important. But don't get it twisted, a relationship would be awesome, but of course with a guy who is willing to add to me intellectually, spiritually, emotionally etc. 


Nevertheless, this post isn't about me and my love life but about a new film project that is in the works!!  

So after listening to the Michael Baisden Show, they spoke with Adam Bulter who is the Director/Producer of an independent film entitled, "Im Single Because" which discusses the issues of why there are so many single black people. The film raises many questions and concerns and is a great round table discussion. Are black women's expectations too high? Can black men be faithful? And are black men and women in a civil war? 

I personally think this is a great case study and interesting to hear the various view points and reasonings of why black women and men are single. Check out the Trailer Below:

Amber Rose Discusses How She Went From The Projects to Penthouses

Yall remember when Amber Rose was a mute? I swear you couldn't pay this chick to utter a mumbling word, but lately she called Kim Kardashian a whore and said that Kanye aint sh*t ... 

Well it doesn't stop there, in her new interview with the NY Post, Amber Rose talks about her sweet come-up that came with some fame and a new lifestyle. 

She explains how Kanye was captain save a hoe and took her from the projects to penthouses .... 

How It All Started:

“I was home in The Bronx, and he called me on my cellphone,” she recalled. “I’d never met him before. He was like, ‘Hey, it’s Kanye.” - She promptly hung up on him, mistaking the famous rapper for a prank caller. -- Kanye called back and finally convinced her he was serious about flying her to LA to star in his Robocop video.  

Thoughts on Kanye: 

“He is your typical rapper in the industry,” Amber told The Post over dinner at The Lion, a celebrity hot spot in the West Village. “He can’t be faithful, and it’s not just with one person. He’s just unfaithful with a lot of different women. I got to the point where I thought, my heart can’t take it anymore. I don’t deserve this. I don’t care when people say that I owe him my life because I’m famous now. I don’t owe him nothing.” 

On Her Relationship With Wiz: 

“I was scared, because he’s four years younger than me, and he’s in the same industry as Kanye and I was so over all that,” said Amber. “All odds were against him, but I couldn’t fight the feeling. Wiz is the better man.” 

“We both travel a lot, so when we do see each other, we lay up in the bed, get sticky with each other, and watch movies,” said Amber. “If Wiz felt insecure about me dating Kanye, I wouldn’t be with him today. Everyone is someone’s sloppy seconds, unless you’re a virgin." 

Thoughts of fame: 

“Like every poor person, I used to dream about winning the lottery,” said Amber, who estimated she’s worth millions today. “I didn’t just get money, though. I got fame. And I got fame before I got money, and it was scary. It f---ing sucks.” 

My Thoughts: 
Talk about a Come Up? No shade intended, but its hard for me to respect a woman who's success, career, fame or status is determined by who she is or has slept with. Its just not a good look ---  So, Ladies lets do better :)

GOSSIP: Boyz II Men Member Cheats on his Wife with his "Spiritual Wife?"

Looks like the Boyz II Men crooners have a hard time keeping the peen at home, but due to their Hebrew Israelite faith they are allowed to sex their spiritual wife when necessary and are allowed to have multiple wives .... oh ok?!

My Thoughts: I'm cool with it as long as their wives are able to have some "spiritual peen" on the side as well ... 

Well if you didnt know a few years back Shawn (the real skinny one in the group) was exposed for cheating on his wife for NINE years and yup just as you suspected Wayne Morris also been put on blast for cheating on his wife (Traci "Toi" Nashy) of ten years with Dora Guttierez who lives in Australia.


Dude has even been on lavish vacations with his side piece and even took pics at Boyz II Men Hollywood Walk Of Fame posing next to the star, like a happy couple ... smh


The Bossip informant also says that Wanya and Dora even share an apartment in Los Angeles together ...

LADIES: Seek "Real Love" NOT "Reality TV Love"

Now, I admit that I am definitely a Reality TV fan and I have been since the first season of the MTV's Real World (which as far as I know was the start of the Reality TV craze), however I am not nor have I even tried to emulate my life according to what is depicted as "reality" on TV.

But let's not forget that these shows are for entertainment purposes only. Now I am not here to question other people's relationships but to merely question those individuals who take to twitter and other social networking sites to express their thoughts while watching Reality TV shows suggesting that they want relationships like Jim & Chrissy, Tiny & TI, Evelyn & Chad and so fourth .... 

First off, I've seen the ladies swoon and buss all kinda nuts over the Kaaaannng aka T.I. and damn near give him father of the year. Hmmmm.... Yes, he definitely seems to be a lovely father and I will not take that from him. But let's pause for a minute, if he were such a great Dad as he is being portrayed, then why can't that this young man stay out of jail?

So is that truly the man you would want in your life?

Then you have Jimmy and Chrissy, so yeah everybody says that Chrissy is a "ride or die chick" and "she holds Jimmy down" ... *rolls eyes* 

But when she proposed to him like a sucka *shakes head in shame* he hit her with a half ass "I gotchu" and slick grin but clearly NEVER said "YES". Then this season on Love & Hip Hop, she kinda shook him up with the "I need some space" speech, so he then follows her to Miami and gives her a rather aggressive proposal.

And all the bishes went wild on my TL (that’s Twitter lingo for 'timeline') as if he just did something amazing. Yes he proposed, but was it to a appease her? Or did he have a little fear in his heart thinking she was going to leave him? 

So ask your self: Do you want to be with a guy who you’ve been “holding down” for years but he's not willing to give you the commitment that you really desire?

Then there's the very charming Chad Johnson (Ochocinco) and the beautiful Evelyn from Basketball Wives Miami. 

They seem so cute together, right? And I'm sure their tweets between each other are so cute, right? Yes!! and you have to admit that Chad is a very nice looking brother and their on camera love affair appeared to quite ideal. 

But as a mature older woman, Evelyn could only take so much from her young boy toy accordingly to TMZ has called off the wedding, today! smh 

Whether its true or not, how long could you really deal with such immature behavior from a man who always has suspicious tendencies? 

So the moral of this rant is to encourage ladies to never look at relationships on TV that seem appealing, nor to the relationships of women who seem to have it all and say "I want a relationship/man like that". (Whether its your Pastor, Best-friend, Co-Worker etc..) You never know the price that she is paying to deal with that "ideal" man because everything that looks good on the outside aint always sweet!

Nobody's perfect and relationships definitely take hard work! And you'll be a fool to think otherwise!! (TRUST ME, I KNOW!) 

But I do encourage women to follow their passion, never settle for less and focus on want you really desire! Work on being who you want to find, then allow the Universe to align the stars up accordingly and send the man who is designed for you, to you! He will add to you (not take from you), love you whole heartedly and alllll of that :))

[VIDEO] Dutch TV Hosts Each Others Flesh On TV!!!!

So I just spotted a very disturbing video over at TheLifeFiles of a Dutch TV show called Proefkonijnen, meaning Test Rabbits in English. The video show the hosts Dennis Storm and Valerio Zeno, eating others flesh that was surgically removed and they smelled it, cook it in sunflower oil and ate it!!


And to think we damned Jeffery Dahmer to hell but we are cool with these two fools eating each other over a candle lit dinner?? ... I can't deal

From an interview with ABC:

“Nothing is really that special when you’re talking about the taste of the meat,”  host Dennis Storm told ABCNews.com. “But it is weird to look into the eyes of a friend when you are chewing on his belly.”  

Part of Storm’s left butt cheek was carved out by a surgeon, while his co-host, Valerio Zeno, opted to have a piece of his abdomen removed, they say.  “We went to the butcher, the surgeon and the studio, then we looked at each other and just ate it,” Storm said. “The special thing is, it was his flesh, of course.”

“The chef cooked it in a frying pan with sunflower oil,” Storm said. “We didn’t add any salt or pepper because we wanted to know what it tasted like.”

Terrance Howard Says He's Divorcing His Wife Because She's A Racist!

First off how do you marry someone who's a racist and you didn't know? And if your a racist why would you marry someone who is the race of the exact people you hate? ... I'm confused!! 

So according to TMZ Terrence Howard is ending his marriage because his estranged wife, Michelle hates black people and would often call him a monkey and a n*gga!. 

He also stated that he wife often said. “[I] never wanted to marry a n***er in the first place” and “[I] definitely didn’t want to be the stepmother of some n***er kids.”


He also claims that she is trying to extort him over private information that she allegedly stole from his computer and threatened to have him “clipped” if he went to police.

Umm...this is just weird!! Either way, I hope they get it together! Their first hearing is set for Jan 7th, 2012.
