LaLa Anthony Covers "LATINA" Magazine!

As LaLa Anthony preps for the premiere of the new season of her hit VH1 reality TV show  “LaLa’s Full Court Life”,  she took a moment to embrace her Latina side for the April 2012 issue of Latina Magazine. Check out a few of the deets below as she gives insight on trusting Carmelo Anthony all while staying confident.

Check out the excerpts below....

On how she and Carmelo have lasted for 8 years:
“It’s been 15 days since I’ve seen my husband. That’s a long time for us to go without seeing each other. But I went on this whirlwind of launching the makeup line and my husband’s a basketball player. It’s not like he can say, ‘Hey, I’m not playing in the game today, I’m going to meet up with my wife somewhere.’ We’ve been together for eight years and I think we’ve lasted this long because we give each other space. But there’s also that time where it can be too much space.”

Does she trust Carmelo?:
“I wouldn’t say it’s a misconception, because there are a lot of athletes who do live a certain life with women everywhere,” La La says. “So you can’t act like it’s the craziest thing you’ve ever heard, because it is out there. But I’m secure in my relationship. I’m happy with having my own thing going on. I don’t spend all day worrying about what he’s doing. In that sense, I trust him.”

Does Melo have a secret love child?:
“There are a lot of athletes who do live a certain life with women everywhere. So you can’t act like it’s the craziest thing you’ve ever heard… But I’m secure in my relationship.

On staying confident:
Tap into your uniqueness – “I encourage people to embrace whatever it is that makes them different. Not being like everybody, setting your own trends, being your own person, that’s what
makes you cool.”

On making peace with your insecurities:
“In this day and age, [people will] tear you to hell: ‘Her hair, her legs, her this, her that.’ So it is sometimes hard to stay as confident as you like. I’m just like anybody else. Weight goes up and down, sometimes I’m killing myself to be on a crazy diet, sometimes I’m not. Sometimes I feel like my legs are too skinny, other times I don’t. As you get more mature you learn to embrace insecurities and figure out how to be okay with that stuff, to keep it in perspective.”

On building a great support system
“My family always encouraged me and supported me. While still a teenager, I told my mom one day I was moving to L.A. She was like, ‘All right, I’ll go with you, get you settled and come back.’ If I didn’t have that I wouldn’t be confident to do all these things.”

10 things Men Hate About Females

I was ear hustling one day and overheard a woman complaining about why she can't find or keep a good man. But there is one thing you women tend to forget is that us men are quite simple, we don't ask for much but there are some things that we do want to avoid when dealing with you females. So after several conversations with me and the homies, I've have managed to come up with a few things (in no particular order) that we hate or cant stand about some of you female.

Ten Things Men HATE about females:

1. Females who spend hundreds of dollars on their weave but then have no food in their house talkin' bout "When u taking me out to Eat?"

2. Females that go to the club every weekend but claim that they are looking for a relationship. But umm ma'am, Mr. Right is not at the bar every weekend just Mr. Right Now.

3. Females who expect men to know what they are thinking. Umm sorry but failed mind reading in high-school.

4. Females that start arguments over nothing but wont talk about what's really bothering them.

5. Females that put having a baby daddy before a husband. Isn't there an order of operation? Well ... Get it right.

6. When females talk about wanting a "good man" but overlook the college graduates and go for the dope boys and wonder why their life is so drama filled.

7. Those females who look forward to get that child support check so that they get there nails done.

8. When females take hours to respond back to a text message and then get mad when we forget what we were talking about 3 hrs ago.

9. When a female is constantly accusing you of cheating. -- I mean give me the benefit of the doubt, that chick really is my cousin.

10. Oh yeah that female who doesn't clean up after her self. -- There's nothing sexy about a junky female because I have probable cause to believe that "the box" may not be clean either.

But with all that said, I love women!! But some of yall do be tripping tho. Guess I gotta learn to give and take.

MOVIE REVIEW: Tyler Perry's "Good Deeds"

Yesterday I took my mother on a date to go see the premier of “Good Deeds” starring thee incomparable Tyler Perry, beautiful Thandie Newton and Gabrielle Union. And I must say that this was indeed an awesome film; the storyline was deep with moments that would make you want to laugh and cry from the raw emotions and lives portrayed.
In a gist the movie is about a successful businessman Wesley Deeds (Tyler Perry) who has lived by the book his whole life. He has followed all the rules, maintained the “good son” role, a stickler to routine and lives of very predicable boring life. Lame... Right??
Well one day he meets Lindsey, a feisty free-spirited single mother who has a plethora of issues of her own but her sheer presence turns Mr. Deeds life upside down.... and then the plot thickens...

Many would be pleased to know that this film does not have any bitter-man-hating black women complaining nor does it have the gun toting Madea cussing and causing havoc. Meanwhile it shows two people from different tax brackets and lifestyles yet seemingly are very much alike and share similar interests.

Even though I personally cringe at the mere thought of Tyler Perry in a kissing love scene, he however did a great job Oh let’s not forget Thandie Newton … sista girl played her role oh so well.

Too bad I cant tell you what happened, just know that I left the movie theatre teary eyed, feeling very grateful for my life and even more determined to achieve my goals all while keeping my integrity and spontaneity.
So basically any and everybody can relate to this movie! Its definitely a MUST SEE!!
A moving, uplifting romantic drama about relationships and the defining choices we make in our lives, 'Tyler Perry's Good Deeds' is written, produced and directed by Tyler Perry, and stars Perry, Thandie Newton, Brian White, Rebecca Romijn, Jamie Kennedy, Eddie Cibrian, Jordenn Thompson, Beverly Johnson, with Phylicia Rashad, and Gabrielle Union.
